NEXT JAM: Nov 5th 4:30-8:00 at Tailgators (on Argent.)
INTRODUCTION:
What is this free Jam Event about? It’s an opportunity for musicians to Rock the stage! All Rock music genre, from all decades for all ages!
It is a bunch of musicians who gather together about every 6 weeks, without any practice session, and play through a set list for that specific event. (changes every time). No one gets paid. No one makes any money except the bar/restaurant that sells food.

We are just a group of musicians and singers, who like playing the rock-n-roll hits, new and old. Most of us played some in High School, maybe College, maybe Professionally, maybe toured for years… – But many of us set it aside to raise families, focus on our jobs, fix houses, etc. Some of us are still in the midst of life and just want an occasional opportunity to play with local musicians. A few of us are brand new to the game and looking to build skills and make friends!
For the more seasoned, our kids are grown, our careers are over (not me, yet), and we have some free time – we’ve dusted off our guitars, pulled our drums out of storage, started singing in the car again, and looked for a safe place to play with others. These Rock n Roll Jams have become a great outlet for both the rusty players trying to “get back into the groove”, and the experience players looking to network with other musicians.
Don’t get me wrong, the talent level of the players, singers, is pretty high, sometimes phenomenal. But the patience shown by the group, for those just starting out, has been heartwarming, and the judgement level is pretty non-existent, and egos don’t show up. For those watching in the crowd the Rock music is quite good, as you can see in the youtube videos. It even inspires people to dance!
Local bands sometimes join us for a 3-song shot – not for the potential Gig exposure (there really aren’t any scouts or hiring folks in the audience), but for the chance to network with other musicians, and maybe find that singer or guitarist, that the band is missing; That is huge!

We are welcomed in a variety of venues with a large enough room area to accommodate our crowd! Our Facebook page is “Rock N Roll Jam: Low Country Edition”, and you’re looking at our web site. For now my email is the point of contact for all communications with the group (joy_road@yahoo.com).
